The Egyptian way; a moving story

Moving a steel framed site shed from next to the house to a concrete slab in the yard where the yurt used to be, turned out to be an interesting exercise. The idea seemed straightforward. Just jack it up on blocks, slide a car trailer underneath, move it to where you want, jack it up, car trailer out, lower it down, done. A few things went different than initially planned.

Firstly the jacked up shed  fell a little bit: half on the trailer, half back on the ground. Easy fix. Within a day we had the lot  jacked up again.
Secondly, with the building on the trailer almost towed to the right spot, one of the dual axles gave way, meaning that the axle and wheels were on a weird angle to the trailer and would move no further. Mm. Now what. Jacked up the bloody shed again so the trailer could be freed.

Now we had a shed half on the slab, half in a sloping garden, towering about a metre from the ground on rough blocks .

The last picture shows Damian's solution. The shed just rolled over an ingenious construction with sleepers, keg, rollers, guide-posts etc. We had secured the shed to a plum tree on the other side with a hand winch,  to prevent it rolling the wrong way, which was down hill. One person on the winch, the other gently pushing the shed for it to roll into place. Those Egyptians weren't that silly after all... In the end we slightly wondered whether the shed looked nice where it was now... I think we both thought it but were not keen to express the thought out loud. Anyway, it turned out perfect. Now we have decided we don't like the aluminium cladding and are replacing it with weather boards. Don't tell me we could have taken the shed apart anyway so we could have carried it over...
A term called cognitive dissonance reduction comes to mind: we had fun for a few days (make it five) - better than internetting!
